What Does a Furnace Cost in SE MA / RI?
A new gas furnace installed costs $4,000 to $10,000. Home size and efficiency rating set the price. An 80% unit for a smaller Swansea colonial lands near the bottom. A 96% two-stage furnace for a larger home runs higher, and the fuel savings show up every winter after.
Switching from oil? The conversion is quoted as a single project because the gas line work comes with it.
The spread comes down to three things: the efficiency tier you pick, the condition of your existing ductwork, and what the venting needs. A straightforward swap costs less than an install that needs new venting on the way out.
Furnace repairs run $350 to $1,500 depending on the part and the labor involved. Ignitors and flame sensors are quick. Blower motors and control boards cost more. We quote before we start.
Rebates & Incentives (2026)
Rebate amounts depend on system type, efficiency rating, and whether you’re replacing fossil fuel equipment. Massachusetts projects fall under Mass Save. Rhode Island projects fall under RI Energy and Clean Heat RI, available through December 31, 2026. We confirm your eligibility.
